Looking for a new place to eat after work? Social enterprise restaurant Mazí Mas has taken up residence at the Ovalhouse Theatre in Lambeth. The restaurant is dedicated to supporting women from migrant and refugee communities. Many of these women have struggled to find work in the UK, despite their high-level qualifications. Mazí Mas gives them paid work experience, training and a supportive social network to help build their confidence and secure further employment in London’s vibrant food industry.
The end result is delicious. Mazí Mas is providing the hungry public with home-cooked food from all corners of the globe. Mains change daily, as each chef cooks food from her own country, taking visitors from Iran to Peru, via Turkey, Senegal, Ethiopia and Brazil. Mazí Mas cooks the food people like to eat: simple, full of flavour and rooted in rich cultural traditions.
So what are you waiting for? Check out this week’s menu here. They’re at the Ovalhouse Theatre, 52-54 Kennington Oval, SE11 5SW until 30th May. Dinner is served Tuesday through to Saturday, 6pm – 10 pm. For parties of 6 or more, book your table with firstname.lastname@example.org.
