CLS Vauxhall Square to go before Planning Committee

The CLS Vauxhall Square development is due to go before Lambeth Council’s Planning Applications Committee this Tuesday 18 December, 7pm in the Brixton Town Hall, Room 8, ground floor.
Please come along and support your local speakers, including one from Viva Vauxhall from the public gallery.
This development is proposed to go up on Bondway (opposite the ex-Octave Tower), including the current homeless hostel in Parry Street and the Georgian terrace opposite the Covent Garden Flower Market on Wandsworth Road/Miles Street. The proposed plans continue the theme of huge density (luxury housing, student & hotel accommodation), putting added pressure on open public green space and other infrastructure. The developments two proposed towers emulate the 206m One Nine Elms scheme (Market Towers) by exceeding the VNEB’s own guidelines re height by 18 m, plus a ‘mid-rise’ building of nearly 100 m (taller than Keybridge House.) On the other hand they offer a cinema and an ice rink.
